NORTH CAROLINA DEMOCRACY TASK FORCE
The non-partisan North Carolina Democracy Task Force is an extension of the American Bar Association’s Task Force for American Democracy.
Established in 2024, we are hard at work mobilizing our network of legal professionals and community leaders to spearhead efforts to bolster voter confidence in North Carolina's elections.
Through partnerships with respected members of the legal community, civic, business, religious, and other democracy-focused organizations, we offer the resources and structure that legal professionals need to educate their communities on the importance of the rule of law in protecting our democracy.
Lawyers are duty bound to protect the Constitution and to uphold the rule of law. Accordingly, lawyers must lead in this effort both as educators, and by example.

Election lawsuits are flooding the courts, aiming to alter voting rules in crucial states—based on unfounded claims of widespread fraud.
In response, past presidents of national, state, and local bar associations are sounding the alarm now that our courts must remain grounded in facts, not theory.
